Launched out of everett at about 8am. Dropped 3 pots near Whidbey island and headed towards Jeff head point. Was tough at first as there was seaweed everywhere and couldn't keep my gear in the water for more then a few seconds without collecting a mop of the stuff.
Right around slack tide it seemed the seaweed cleared out and the bite was on. We caught 4 average size resident coho within an hour.
Purple haze flasher to either an old goat lure pink top/green undersized or all white ace hi needlefish style. Both worked well as we got 2 fish on both each lure taking turns hooking up. After the 4 fish we decided to go check our pots and were rewarded with 13 huge male Dungeness and 2 nice size red rocks for 3 of us.
