Launched out of Magnuson at 5am today with one other trailer in the lot. Figured most people would be heading to the salt. We Started off targeting largemouth in shallow weedy areas. My buddy caught a few 1-2 lb LMB on topwaters. I missed one on a weedless frog and a few other bites on a senko. We decided to troll deep cranks off of weedlines in 20-30 fow to see if anything would heat up. Trolled off shore kind of near the 520 bridge for a decent amount of time. After a while we were heading towards the bridge and took a right a couple hundred yards before the bridge heading to open water. We were going to head to another spot so we trolll out deep to pull in our gear. Fish finder goes from 30 fow to 50 to 90 real fast and I look at my pole to go reel it in and its bent over like I have a log! Ended up reeling in a 4.5lb 19in smallmouth and man was she fat! It was my only fish of the day but you cant be at that quality! Deep crank was silver in color. Water was 67-68 degrees all morning.
