I have been hitting Shadow quite a bit the past 45 days but this is my first report. Shadow is is close to home and a realy nice lake to fish other then not much shade from the sun.

Based on the stocking reports the lake was good bet for stocker Trout. After a month and half there are still plenty of small stockers to be had. Today was the first time since I have been there that the fly was not King. Skeeter Daredevil was lighting up out there. Pretty much anything long lined on top of the water would work. Some of the fish are quite small, but there are a few larger ones (wink, wink) Skulpzila Jr with no weight did well early on using my spinning gear until I switched to the Daredevil. Also caught risers with my Trout Magnet Bobber set up.

The back of the lake was doing really well but I usually work the front part early as I have done well there also. Lots of vegetation at the back of the lake but very condensed. Lost two nice ones back there.

I brought a Ned Rig to try some Bass fishing and managed to get a few dinks on it even though I hardly know what I am doing. Also caought a Crappie on my fly rod.

Ended up with 28 with about 18 on the Daredevil. I have done much better than that on this lake the weekend after the plant, but 45 days later it’s still going pretty strong.

Here are a few of the bigger ones that I caught earlier. The bottom seam of my net is 16” for a reference. One was about 5lbs but the pic did not do any justice so I did not use it.
