Well my day started out pretty amazing. On my second cast with a bucktail I had a quality fish follow but no take. 10 minutes later about a dozen houses further down the shoreline I switched to a glide bait and had another quality fish follow. He gave it a little smack but didn’t hook up. Five minutes after that this guy drilled it.
I would have given the day a 5 star but my morning petty much went to crap after that. When I handled the fish he got a pretty good piece of me. I went home for a few minutes patched up my hands and then went back out. I then dropped my phone on the deck of my boat. It bounced about 3 times then plopped right into the lake. I tried to grab it right as it hit the water then dove in after it fully clothed with pole in hand. I didn’t get the phone, broke my pole and broke the reel. The phone had a waterproof case so I figured I’d go home grab a snorkel and mask and look for it . I knew exactly what House it was in front of and it was only about 10 ft of water. Looked for about a half hour. No luck. Went hame and called it a day.
I also posted a picture of the little guy my wife picked up earlier this week.

Rough day for sure! One for the memory books. Thanks for a good read. Andy

I've got a Lifeproof 'lifejacket' for my phone, which fits over the waterproof case. I lost a phone to the depths once, the lifejacket has prevented that from happening again. Brutal day, between your gear, hand, phone... but nice fish!

I'd hate to see what has to happen to you if you ever rated a fishing day 1 star.

I’m a glass half full kind of guy. I moved three muskies in a half hr. That trumps the pain of the rest of my day.

Does this mean you just can't handle success? ROTFL. What a wonderful fish and days like this make the memories vivid.

Several days after reading your report and looking at your pics, Im thinking that I know you and your wife from somewhere.... I grew up on Tapps..... any chance you live(d) near banker's island area? Lakeridge Drive? I was the seattle times paper boy in the mid 90's. Maybe just a familiar looking face.... Any ways, good fishin' and way to stay positive when you've got every right not to!

Hey sideburns I moved to the lake in the mid 90s to the north end of the lake. My wife and I are very involved in the community. You may recognize us from some event.

Hurts like hell when they get you but makes for some battle stories. Teeth or gill rakers?

He got me on both hands with rakers and one hand with a tooth
