Stevens this morning..no hits no fish..3 hours. 50-55 feet deep DR, corn in Tuna and my usual set ups. 4 trips to Stevens since April 1st and 3 fish!! In 2015, 2016 we got 60 to 70 each year!! I don't think the fish are in the lake anymore in the numbers we caught in '15 or '16. Last year we got 5 total! No boats on water either 3 at 630AM!!! They plant the lake with hundred thousand small fry...where are they? We fished the East shore and toward the old ..was..areator.

They say they plant them, but who knows for sure.

Stevens can be tough at times. This time of year specially. Another week of two they should be schooled up a bit more and a bit more aggressive. The fish are there though, ive been out there 5 times so far this year and have caught 45.

Thanks Josh, I guess I thought fishing would be as good as I had in June of 2016 when I had 50 nice Kokes by June 12th. Got 3 so far this year ( and 2017 I got 5 total), same rigs as 2016 and 2015.

Friend of mine was out on Stevens today. 12 inch leader, 45 feet down, 1.2 - 1.3mph, chartreuse and purples, fished from noon til 4pm and got his limit. Completely different color set ups, leader lengths etc. that earlier in the year, and even this time last year. The fish are very finnicky on Stevens at times and can want very specific things almost day to day.

They plant them and there is a natural run as well. The chemical the city puts in the lake kills off the food for them and doesnt help. We need to get them to put in a new aerator system before they kill the lake.

I wonder if the cutthroat are consuming the kokanee.

i think the increased cutt to koke relationship is related somehow, not specifically in stevens.... but in other declining kokanee lakes the cutthroat at least "seem" to be thriving in the absence of kokanee. Not sure if they are the cause or just a sign of the changing ecosystem.
