5/31/2018 9:01:33 PMThat's a rainbow. You could tell by how small the mouth is. Coho or landlocked salmon have mouths that past the eye. Also landlocked coho have darker gum line

I thought it was a rainbow too, but the 3 locals there kept saying it was definately a silver.
I couldn't care less....either way that fish fought like crazy, it never did give up.
This fish got my respect....regardless of skin color! lol

6/6/2018 4:20:00 PMTurns out it was a Cowlitz river hatchery released steelhead. ..according to a fisheries officer. Estimated weight is 6.75 pounds. Sure explains the extraordinary battle to land it.
