I fished for catfish down-river from Almota. Caught 5, biggest one was about 12 inches. All were bullheads, but they eat pretty good. Great time until I went to the car for the lantern when I almost stepped on a rattlesnake. No kidding. The first one I have ever encountered. I backtracked then circled around it, watching more carefully where I stepped. Snakes aside, this trip was successful and I will be back. This river is full of surprises.
