I had the day off and took advantage of it. Nice cloudy day with occasional sun breaks. A little windy though. There are beautiful snow-capped mountain views from the middle of the lake. There is a nice depth drop off to 50-70’ that contours around the lake, especially on the West side. I marked a lot of fish 5-15 ‘, and occasionally about 25’down in 60’ deep water. The plan was to fish for cutthroat heading north up the lake against the wind, then for Kokanee on the return trip. A rainbow would be welcome also. I had several hookups on my led core line at about 15’ down with 3 colors out. What worked best was gold/silver dodgers and perch or gold/silver god’s tooth lures. My other line was on a downrigger, usually at 25-30’. Had a couple drive by’s, but no hookups. Cutthroat were king today. Even with a god’s tooth configured for kokanee and using kokanee super dipping sauce, trolling at 1.2 mph. Cutthroat were biting on this also. I only took two trout home for dinner. 11” and 13”. Definitely worked at it, due to the headwind and two rods out.
