Well, we threw everything and the kitchen sink at those tightlipped largies for three hours in the morning and another hour in the late afternoon… Only to be rewarded with no bites! We spotted some swimming around, even bounced a crank bait off of one of them about 3 pounds (guessing based on sight), but they just were not interested in playing. One guy at the public launch had a stringer of three bass while another guy at the dock had a 3 pound rainbow trout tied up for his efforts.
We trolled up a few trout with the help of some worms and wedding rings, nice 14 inch fish, very silver, released unharmed during the heat of the day, so at least the boat did not get skunked. Also tried throwing worms for catfish along a couple of drop-offs, but no luck. Would love to learn more about how to catch them there!
