Leif was indeed at Milk Pond. It is down lower. If he wants to get to Milk
Lake, he should stop at the ranger station in Naches and purchase a
"firefighting map" which is their most up-to-date map with the correct road
numbers. There is a spur which goes off the Milk Lake road to the right
that goes down to the lake.
The road to Milk Lake was washed out years ago, but was fixed last summer,
and you should be able to get their without 4 wheel drive these days. I've
taken our Expedition up there. It's a pretty area. The lake has some
beautiful, but smallish cutts in it. I couldn't get any takers with flies
up there, but that's probably due to my skill as a flyfisherman (grin). I
had the girls using powerbait, and no takers there either until they started
to reel in slowly with it. We caught a couple with that method in the 6-9
inch range.
I don't think Milk Pond has fish in it, though we've caught lots of polliwogs
and frogs there!
