My son helped get the boat ready for fishing Clear Lake in Pierce County on Mother’s day. I made sure the motors/batteries were working Saturday night but when I went to get the riptide teranova ready for trolling the batteries were almost dead. I don’t know why.
Well Bo said we could still fish and I said I did have eggs. Then I remembered the Yamaha kicker which I hadn’t used since getting the electric. I haven’t been out since late Oct last year. He got it ready and pulled twice and it fired right up. Hardly ever does that for me. So we started fishing/trolling. I didn't target kokanee as they are nearly extinct in this lake now. The fish finder said there were fish around but we didn’t see many bites.
Bo got the first 3 trout in the boat but mine came off. Then I got fish in the boat and his came off. We started on the south side of the lake but had the best luck on the north side.
It was a warm day with the temperature to be in the mid 80’s. The water was 62. We started about 8:30am and quit just after noon. We left with 8 trout.
