Fished outside on Cinco de' mayo. We left the launch around 900 in a leisurely fashion after getting the month of moorage all settled. Was a bit sketchy motoring through the straits as they were completely socked in with fog with no radar, and all 4 of us were pretty tuckered out from the "red eye" departure from Kitsap county. Caught all kinds of species, with only one yellow eye that was safely returned to the bottom. I made a deal with the crew on the way out, that if anyone catches a tiger rock fish and releases it ill buy them a burger. To which my brother caught a stud of a tiger! I think we ended up with 5 vermillion, one of which was a slab (10 lbs). Kept any ling that looked like it was worth a few tacos, and as luck would have it we caught a slough of giant lings after we already had limits and were trying to finish our rock fish limits. Beautiful waters! No drama, (other than the tainted elk summer sausage and no toilet on the boat)... Great day! Back home at 930pm. Be safe up there for the first halibut opener, looks like you're gonna be working for them if not stuck behind the jetty....
