Fished meridian, 6am t0 9am, with all my Favorites (wedding rings, sling blades, & corn). Caught a 13 inch rainbow(c&r). Beautiful day, should have given it a higher rating!!!

I was there a little later than you. Kokanee "no show". Kept a couple of holdover rainbows. 15 and 17 inch. I think we met you on your way in to the launch. Ive been bad about reporting, but ive been looking for the mystery kokanee in meridian pretty regularly. The only 2 kokes Ive found in the last few years have been like 8 inches! 4th attempt at finding kokanee this year.

A little more info.... The 17 incher was caught on a rapala f7 original floating minnow, no dodger, 1.4mph, 16 feet on the downrigger.
The Big one that got away with my lure was hooked on a big gold/orange deep diving rattling bass plug, broke my 4 lb leader. That lure got hit several times. The last 15 in fish was caught with a kokanee setup, small dodger, 8 in leader and orange spinner hoochie. 20 feet on the downrigger.

I've been out 4-5 times earlier this month with similar results, but haven't been out since the water temp barely crossed the 50 degree mark. On the up side, I've gotten to know the lake pretty well (especially the mystery snag [submerged tree?] on the West end of the lake, which is probably a right of passage on this lake). If anyone sees a guy on a yellow Hobie PA, that is likely me.

I have contributed my fair share of hardware to that submerged tree! Last year I caught it again, but wasnt going to give up my downrigger ball, so I pulled and pulled, until I could see branches and tackle! I ended up with a few rusty dodgers and flashers for effort.

Sideburns - The fish must call that the local x-mas tree, as it is always being decorated!
