My daughter and I took the new boat out for our second break in session on Sunday morning. We got a late start and were on the lake around 10am. Started by running over to the small end of the lake to see if we could mark any fish.
We don't have downriggers on the boat yet so we're limited to using leaded line. We fished that end of the lake for a couple of hours with no luck using several different setups, including a variety of Dick nite dodgers with hoochies and spinners tipped with tuna corn. We didn't see many fish on the screen, but when we did see them they were between 24' and 36'.
Around noon we decided to give the area around the boat launch a try. Made a couple of passes from the buoy at the launch to the North. On the second pass we finally had some action. My daughter had switched to a RMT dodger in green with pink splatter and a Brad's cut plug (pink magic) tipped with corn dipped in Super Dipping Sauce. She was at 2 colors on the leaded line and landed a small but feisty kokanee which we took a quick pic of and released.
Water temps were right at 50 degrees so fishing should be picking up soon. Great day to be out on the water even though the fishing could have been better!

Wow! Beautiful new boat. Sounds like you guys still had a good time regardless. I don't think using downriggers at this time of year would have netted you any more fish because they appear to be more active near the surface and the fish down low don't seem to care about anything. Congrats and happy fishing.

Thanks, any time we're fishing it's a good time! Agree on the downriggers this time of year, we didn't have them at all on the old boat and still had a lot of success with leaded line.

Nice rig!!
Have you noticed any increase in break-ins up there when the AIS station isn't around? I love that lake, just not what goes on in the parking lot!

We haven't had any problems. We have launched a few times there when the AIS inspections aren't running. I have noticed a sketchy looking vehicle parked there once or twice though.
