Generally by now, I have tried the selective fishery (no bait/artificial lure only/single barbless hook) of Medical Lake several times by now, but Sunday was the first this year. Beautiful morning, but no bites and no fish for either my Wife or me casting spoons and spinners. Why would I give a 4 Star rating(?)...Well seeing two different loons at very close range! Probably the main reason for the poor production on the fishing, but seeing those gorgeous birds that close more than made up for it. BTW, the water already showing "Green Gunk".

Unfortunately the poor production would be all the bait fisherman that don't care for the rules there and keep more then they are allowed . I inform of the rules to at least one group Everytime I go . The lake does not get stocked every year either

I fished it for the first time yesterday and had great success dragging a woolly bugger around. I had consistent bites and lots of misses. Maybe the afternoon/evening bite is better? I'm no expert though haha. Nice big rainbows in there! Flyrod with a sink tip and changing my speed seemed to trigger the bites. I do C&R, unless I see one bleeding. It's nice to have a selective fishery around here, but yes the marshmallow/powerbait bankers are an issue. I did see another fisherman tell some of them off as soon as I arrived yesterday...thanks! I saw those loons as well!! Pretty cool. And there are a ton of ospreys around as well. Nice wildlife and location out there. Definitely worth more trips.
