This weekend we were able to take a break from the Spring Salmon and run a couple walleye trips! What a great time we had! The fishing was excellent and the weather was pretty decent overall! We landed over 50 eyes in two days and kept a good pile of eater fish for the clients both Saturday and Sunday! All our fish were caught downstream trolling bottom walkers and worm harnesses. Remember that in the early season with the colder water, the troll speed is pretty important. Even just a 1/2 mph adjustment can make or break your day. I like to stay around 1.5-2 mph as we troll downstream! Also, this time of year, the main food source in the river is Spring and fall Chinook smolts. Any spinner rig or jig presentation should match a smolt and you will get bit! If chasing these great eating Columbia River Walleye looks like a good time, give me a call and get your spots reserved for June and July! I have limited dates left and am filling up quick!! Walleye prices are $150/seat or $800 for the boat (6 seats) plus tax! Look forward to hearing from you!
