Hit Rattlesnake today but really wanted to hit some small lakes in Ellensburg (Mattoon, McCabe & Woodhouse) to avoid the rain but did not want to mess with the pass.
Fished from 7:15 to 12:15,....5 Hours with 10 fish per hour and many lost. Size wise was mainly 9-10” with a handful of 12” and a nice 14” fish.
Trolled two rods....one with a diving plug to 5’ and the other slightly deeper to about 7’. The 5’ rod won the battle. 3 doubles but no chance of landing both with barbless hooks. Orange also won out over Gold.
Rained 90% of the time with a small window of no rain. Wind started to pick up so it was time to leave and go get some OT at work on the way home.
Worked different parts of the lake today, but I still get some of the larger fish around the Double Eagle Tree on the ridge side. Lots of Swallows working the water today so I trolled in the area that the were in for quite awhile.
Looking forward to tomorrow as I am headed south and hopefully I will find some Crappie, Bluegill, LMB and some bigger sized Trout other than the basic stockers at my local lakes.
No pics....to wet, sorry.
