Went to Banks for Smallmouth Bass. Only caught one. But the trout were right up on shore acting like bass. Hooked over 20 between two of us. All around 18". Casting tubes was very effective. Water temp was right at 42.

Tubes... as in the big 3.5” tubes usually used for bass? Also, thanks for the report!

Not often someone targets bass...........ends up catching nuttin but Big shinny Trout! 18" is a seriously large, hard fighting Hombre.

Yes, as in 3.5" 1/4oz jig head. Crayfish color. I usually don't eat trout but the meat was bright red in all the fish. Made smoked trout candy.

Those darn trout thingies get in way of a good bass sometimes...looks like a good day anyhow...

As a Washington newbie... If find the fishing regs here really confusing.
Is Banks lake open for Trout? Looking at the pamplet ( https://wdfw.wa.gov/publications/01914/2017-18_eastside_lakes.pdf )
Is doesn't list Trout, but says "all game fish", but above states all game fish excludes Trout....
So, if you don't mind me asking... it it?

Open for trout year round. 5 per day. Season opener of more lakes this weekend if you like trout. Jameson lake about a half hour from Ephrata is really good. Maybe you can get a good lawyer to interpret the game pamphlet for you. Hunting regs are worse! Good luck fishing.
