5:45 AM - I'm the first to the public boat launch, and its still dark (but the sun is starting to rise). Within 20 minutes, I launch the pontoon boat and start trolling a brass spinner--I am moving slow to get the spinner down to a depth of 25 feet (I heard the Kokane are at this depth).

6:45 AM - I trolled across the lake without a single bite from any of the Kokane (however, I wasn't at the lake for these fish). By 6:45 AM, I was across the lake near some brush along the shore--I was here for Largemouth Bass. Having arrived at my chosen location, I casted my spinner towards the shore (just a few feet from the shoreline). Within seconds, I had my first Largemouth--the first was small. However, I kept fishing my spot and landed a few more ranging from 10 to 12 inches (about a pound). While floating in my pontoon, I saw larger fish as I drifted towards the shore.

8:30 AM - I returned to the boat launch after catching nearly a dozen Largemouth (I kept the three largest for my lunch today and released all the others for another day). The weather this morning was pleasant--there were some clouds and a little cool.
