Made a last minute decision to go to Lake Desire after work and it paid off. I could go into detail of how I caught the fish but it's really not necessary as they hit pretty much anything that moved.
Started trolling after 4:45pm right out in front of the launch and immediately had a fish on. He was feisty and did a number on my line when trying to unhook him so instead of setting my trolling rig back up I busted out my other rod that had a Kastmaster already tied on. Started chucking that thing around and got hit after hit. I lost count of how many I caught inside of the first hour of fishing.
*All fish we're in the 9-10 inch range with a couple that we're in the 11-12 in range. I landed one decent 13 incher but that certainly was not the norm.
This particular lake look pretty "bassy" so I decided I'd switch it up and work a few banks to see any any bass were biting. Nothing.. so I went back out to the middle (this time further away from the launch) and ran a trolling set up to see if I could run into anything bigger. Sure enough, not as frequent of a bite but bigger fish hanging around in the middle of the lake versus right in front of the launch.
Here's some things to note about this lake... If you go in the evening, the dock may be crowded so I recommend bringing a boat. That being said, the launch is pretty shallow and I had the truck pretty far into the water before I could get my trailer down low enough to retrieve my boat. Bigger fish in the middle of the lake as you move away from the launch and yea, that's pretty much it. Easy fishing!
