The usual trio hit Moses Lake this morning after a couple of nonproductive trips the last 2 weeks. It was the first time I have ever fished with a known fugitive of the law. It appears the IRS contacted Al by phone that a warrant for his arrest was issued for overdue payments. We assured Al we would visit him at Federal Prison if he is unable to deliver all the preloaded VISA cards to a PO box on a tight time line!

Water temperature was 47* so we started in 20 FOW with slow death rigs with gold, chartreuse and green colors with silver and gold smile blades. It was only a few minutes until the first eye was boated and returned to the water as he was only 12 inches. Fishing remained steady all morning and the size increased a bit but never exceeded 16 inches. We ended up with 40 fish and kept the larger ones. Speed 1.0-1.2 mph. I am sure these fish were primarily prespawn males. The lake level is still down but expect the fish will be moving shallow as the water flows increase and the lake rises the next couple of weeks.

The fish were not monsters today but still fun to catch. It was also pretty exciting wondering if the Sherrif’s boat would arrive and haul Al off. Sorry no pictures today, I guess it’s a common rule that felons insist on.
