Revisited Lost Lake today. Got to the lake at 8:30 even though I learned the day before not much happens early there, but what the heck. One bank angler and one small Livingston with a Papa and his grand boy with him trolling. The Papa lived on the lake. The Papa also took out his twin granddaughters for a quick trip around but no fish...sad.
The boy and his Papa trolled by after a spin of the whole lake and I asked how they were doing. One was it they said. I offered Papa my Elgin GT spoons to try and he said sure! Made sure they got some of my Flourocarbon Leader and Not even 40 Yards later it was fish one for the little guy, his first fish of the day on the Brown Trout pattern that Russ gave me the day before. See pic.
Well they ended up with 6 with Papa winning with 4 on the 50/50 Blue-Silver color.
I ended up with a Say Hey Kid total of stockers which was way less that the day before. Pink TM at about 3’ was best.
I got home and it hit me. Why did I not Pay It Forward! Russ gave me that Brown Trout Spoon and the boy caught fish on it. Oh man I blew it! So I looked up the address of the home and put it in a envelope and off it will go tomorrow with the name Ryan on it. This will be good because the boy was not there when I got them back from Papa. The look on his face will be priceless!
This is why I gave the day a 5 rating....memorable. Helping a Papa and Grandson catch fish.
Special thanks again to Russ for starting the Pay it Forward.
