Fished from 7:30-11am on Friday morning. The weather was really nice until we headed in and then it got choppy in a hurry. We fished Elger bay and the channel but had very little success. We pulled Old Goat lures, spoons and hoochies with only one shaker and one nice fish on that came off mid way through the fight. We fished tight to the bottom in 80-100 feet of water and our hookup came in about 200 ft of water at 75 ft. on the wire. Marked a few nice bait balls and some scattered fish but wasn't seeing too much action with birds on top. Saw 6 other boats in the area and only saw one other hook up.

Great day to be out but was hoping for a fish in the box. Until next time. . .

Hey Markin'Fish. I know conventional wisdom says fish 80-120 feet of water and drag the bottom but we have had a lot of success lately fishing the shallow water, 35-80 fow, Elger Bay, Hatt Isl, Greenbank and Possession. Not sure if its luck and timing or not but I think the lesson learned is dont ignore the shallows. Fish can be anywhere, in the shallows, suspended in 200 FOW or anywhere in between. Its all about the hunt. Of course if the fish aint there ya caint catchem no matter what you do. Tight lines.

Hi Randy, thank you for that great insight. I will give that a shot next time I'm on the salt. I will be fission either Lake Washington or Lake Meridian on Tuesday. Hope to meet you out on the water soon.

Tight lines,

Mark
