Went to Rufus Woods Saturday to try to catch a few Walleye. We thought we were Walleye fishing but apparently we were trout fishing because that's all we could catch. Spent most of the day trolling over the Nespelem bar (along with many other boats) out from the upper net pens. We were trolling Rapalas behind slider weights against the current. We caught 6 rainbow trout (releasing 4 of them) but no walleye. The trout pictured is a fat 11 Lb triploid that put up a good fight. In the afternoon, we tried jigging and drop-shotting around the island a couple miles downstream from the Seton Grove launch with no luck. Walleye reports we heard from others were a few caught here and there but not consistent. Most caught trout. I rated it a 2 for fish production but the day was a 5 with calm winds, beautiful sunshine and some nice trout.
