Decided we would try early morning fishing, since evening wasn't really producing fish. Got to the lake and there was snow on the banks and a thin layer of ice on parts of the lake. Got to our spot and started fishing. The first hit was just a quick bite ( probably a perch) the next bite took the Bobber under and I set the hook, and hooked into it for a brief second before it shook loose. Moved to another spot. 3rd cast bobber takes off I real up set the hook and BOOM fish on. I can tell right away that it's a big one, as It stalls for a sec then takes off. I move it away from the tree and let it run some more. I eventually tire it out and bring it up on to shore. A beautiful 18 inch cutthroat (whitch had been planted in January) we fished about an hour after that without anything. Fun freezing time out on the water.
