You know...

When I was a kid we used to go fishing, which meant bicycling down to the local pond and either setting up on the bank to do some still fishing for carp or we would wade around a pond and do our best Roland Martin impresion and try to catch some bass.We even would proclaim a hearty "Son!" when one of us would catch a bass.

So every once in a awhile Ill hit a farm pond like Clark pond, don my creel and shorts and wade out around the tullies with my topwater gear in tow to try and relive my youth, just hoping for one excuse, well maybe two or three excuses,to yell out Son!,Son! in my best Roland tone.

If your going to try and relive the good ole days then by God pick a better lake then Clark pond. Its shallow for the most part around the edge and is mostly a carp haven.I waded around the outside pitching topwater and beattlespins whilst sinking halfway up my calves in underwater silt.It was hotter then heck and as still as still could be in the bathwater that was Clark pond.Once,oh 15 years ago or so ,my dad caught a nice three pounder out of here, and it used to be that you could set up onshore and have some nibbles from some dinky perch.I think those days are over.No fish for me!

Oh well,I give it a two,as no day fishing is a bad experience.
