With a decent weather day in the forecast it was time to get the boat wet again. We decided to mix it up and explore a new lake that had been recently stocked with triploids. We fished 10:00 to 3:00 and were handed our first trout skunking in a long time.

It was a difficult lake to figure out, flat bottomed and shallow, we couldn't find any schools or obvious structure. We spent about half the time on the water trolling wedding rings, trolling flies, and dick nites. The other half we anchored up in areas near the boat launch and the island and fished powerbait off the bottom.

The high water was well into the parking lot. If you are going to launch here soon I recommend hip waders.

The high water at Campbell always amazes me. I'm going to hit it later this week and see if anything wants to come out and play.

Water was fairly murky, and overcast skies. So we didnt notice any, but that doesn't mean they weren't there.

I was out Saturday as well. I was the guy pedaling the tan colored Hobie Kayak. Report coming, but yea, really slow. Water clarity was terrible, and the launch is a mess with all of that water. 1 saw 1 other fish caught besides my own, and talked to a guy that has just hooked and lost a large fish fishing bait off bottom.

Best fishing has been with bait on the bottom. Add some extra scent helps. And the deeper water you get into the cleaner the water
