After getting inspiration from Split Milt Production youtube videos on perch ice fishing we decided to go to Curlew lake. We picked out a good day where it wasn't snowing so the road could be clear from Seattle area to Curlew lake. It was a 6hr drive but it was well worth it at the end of the day. We came to the boat launch area and tried in that are in about 30ft deep water. Started drilling holes and the ice was 12 inches! We were going to use maggots and worms for bait as we do with other lakes for ice fishing. The perch were biting so hot one after another! The average perch was 9-11 inches with a few over 12 inches. Throughout the whole day the perch were biting. There were some rainbow trout in the mixture about 8 between the both of us. By the end of the day we ended up catching over 200 perch! It was one of the hottest perch fishing that we have experienced in awhile. Plan to come to Curlew lake again!
