Hey All! We tried razor clamming Thursday night but too stormy. Friday night Was much better wether, almost calm and the rain stopped, but we couldn't even find one show. We started 3 hours before low tide and searched different parts of the beach until 8pm at low tide and gave up. After talking to lots of other groups of people with the same results we didn't feel so bad.

First time ever at Long Beach not getting our limit of clams. Lame! We are still fairly new to this sport. Anyone know why? I heard the hard surf pushes them deep?? Another guy blamed it on too much fresh water run off.?? I don't know.

Also fished for surf perch Friday for a few hours. First spot=no bites.

Second spot got bit 3-4 times for sure but couldn't stick the little suckers. Bit my worm in half.

Skunked this trip to Long Beach. Thank goodness for good eats and the cottage bakery! Yum.

My parents were at Long Beach Friday night and only got 1 clam! Saturday night they staued inside instead. Weird to hear, I've never heard of clamming being difficult like that.

Same here. Very strange.

On a sad note, I saw on the news that two ladies died the same night we were there. Got caught in the surf. Scary. Be careful people!

We clammed the Ocean Shores beaches Friday and Saturday nights, had luck Friday hitting the drier part of the beach after low tide. Saturday was more difficult because the steady rain/mist made it hard to find shows. Killed the surf perch using clam necks as bait.
