Stopped at Eloika Lake for the first time to see if the ice fishing would produce any Perch. There were plenty of people out on the lake when I arrived so I was hopeful that it was going to be a decent afternoon of fishing but after walking out on the ice I didn't see a single fish laying on the surface. The Fiancé and I gave it a good hour in a half try with only two bites and zero fish. Saw a lot of people jumping from hole to hole but nothing was producing. I hope it was just a fluke day because I would like to go and try it again.

Wow.. What area of the lake did you fish. I was there on the 6th from 1-330.. I caught 3 fish. It was my first time ice fishing. I figure I was doing something wrong. However every person I saw had some kind of fish. I'm thinking you need to find the right hole. I also learned the right size hooks plays a big role. I used a few different methods until I got a bite. I'm planning to head back out with a new technique.

I forget the name where I dropped in at but it does require a Discover Pass to park there. I was fishing out in the center of lake not too far from where everyone else was fishing. I don't know for sure how deep that lake gets but I was in about 15 feet of water. I still have a lot to learn about ice fishing being that I've probably only ice fished 6 times in 2 years.
