The Tin Guppy finished the year in style. My son and I fished out of Lincoln to close out the year and had a really good day. We launched around 9:30 and it was blowing and rough so we headed down towards Sterling Point to hide from the wind and were very successful with that. Almost no wind and eventually the sun came out and thawed out the water on the windows and curtain from the bumpy ride across. The Guppy is not known for a smooth ride in waves. Things were pretty slow until after 12 and then we had a pretty steady bite for a couple of hours. Finished the day with 10 in the boat, nothing special just nice husky Roosevelt Rainbows. Never hooked a wild one which seemed odd. One rod with a Perch Kekeda accounted for most of the fish. Was it the fly, the flasher, the side of the boat or a combination of all. Always mysterious to me when no matter what I do with the other rods one hooks most all the fish.
A coyote had a little mule deer doe pinned on the little Rock Island with navigation marker on it. She was stuck there for hours, let the coyote know I disapproved but he didn't seem to do more that get out of sight. Hope she makes it.
Hope everyone had a good year and an even better one ahead.
