What a fun trip. My brother and I met my cousin in Davenport to head up to Ft Spokane. After we dropped the firewood for the campfire we launched and were fishing by 10. We started fishing in the mouth where we've had success in the past. We made one pass from the no wake zone out to the confluence without a bite. We kept rolling along to seven bays hitting points and bays without any success as well. Then we motored across to Black rock to fish off of those flats without any bites. So we pulled up and headed down to the rocks across from Lincoln. We picked up two fish along the rocks as we got A rock. We figured we would give it about another 15 minutes and then swing back around to see if we could pick up a couple more. Good call on that because lights out fishing started! We were fishing the flat after a rock in anywhere from 15 to 30 feet of water and the fish were definitely up there feeding. The three of us ended up catching 22 fish with 7 natives that had to go back. Biggest fish of the day was 21 inches with several more 19 and 20 inchers. We had 3 doubles. We didn't start catching fish until it was after 1 and we were done with our limit by 3:30, it was pretty steady fishing once we found them.
We fished two rods, one orange Kekeda and one perch Kekeda. Yesterday the perch outfished the orange 2 to 1. We had downriggers started at 12 and 7 feet but ended the day at 4 and 5 feet. May seem ridiculous to use downriggers for that shallow but that way we know exactly how deep we are and once off the clip it's just straight line to the fish. Speed was around 2.4 and water temp was 39.9.
Returned to camp and had a nice campfire and some leftover prime rib from Christmas. Really fun trip!
