Well, today was awesome. I released 10 fish and lost 7. Numerous strikes that did not stick and lots of Love taps. With two poles, the action was at times almost too much! Almost two doubles but that is hard to pull of with one person and no electric motor.

With no pressure on the lake (I was the only person) I was able to long line my set up and it’s quite a sight to see these huge Rainbow’s hit the surface for their aerobatic display way, way back behind my toon with their splash echoing across the lake.

I fished from 11:30 to 2:30 today before I HAD to leave, even though the strikes were still going on. The Black with Silver Flecks got taken down today by a Bleeding Frog Color....best day ever with that color as 7 of the 10 came from it.

Plenty of snow, cold feet but the hot action made for a great way to spend my Christmas afternoon. Sure beat that 3 hour power nap!

Cheers!

Wow, Bob! Sounds like you had the whole lake to yourself, and an awesome day. Thanks for the report.

That is a nice report, although I am about to launch a series called "skunked at Beaver". For the 3rd day i tried still fishing and trolling and got almost nothing.
Almost = lost a big one a few inches from the boat as my line snapped... then another one got off the hook.
But overall, i feel empty-handed. I will keep trying, just because I am stuborn

Hey TMBOB, That sounds like a fantastic day on the Beav! I was wondering what depth and speed your were trolling your bleeding frog flatfish at? Also, did you add scent? It would be fun to go out there and freeze my line in the eyelets and reel.

I am rowing, so I vary my speed....I like to see the rod tip dance just a little.....guess about 4 to 6 feet

Thanks TMBOB. Good to know those bows will come up, even in winter for something interesting.
