I'll report it as 5... would have liked to have seen a kokanee, but we pretty much set up just for rainbow as I had a young fishing buddy along. It was his 1st day of winter break and the 1st day of winter so I took my friends son out on the water. Knowing full well he was going to out sigh me again.. This spring I took hi Mack fishing and he landed a 36' to my 30".
Launched at 7 bays, 1st time launching here and was pleased with the marina.
We fishing within sight of the marina all day.
1st fish came rather quickly then in spurts with a little down time exploring new water. We found fish along the shore and in the middle of the lake. Most were caught long lining with Kokabow gear. but the down riggers also found some actions mostly around the 15' mark.
Speeds were 1.7-2.4
We took out limits 2 being just over 20, 3 wilds went back bigger! very nice hard fighting fish. was real happy and not only did the kid bet me on weight of his big fish he also caught the biggest fish over all. a beautiful wild fish.
we had one double and more or less a triple. Just as the fish dropped from our net 2 other poles when off with jumping fish.
water level is real nice and launching is not an issue at all. plenty of dock floating.
Saw a number of shore anglers, and 3 other boats.
Luckily the heater was able to keep the chill at bay as when we dropped down into 7 bays the truck read 15 degrees.
Saw a ton of deer on the drive home.
Go get yourself some winter Roosevelt Rainbow.
