Went out on the new kayak today to try my luck with the recent stocking. Trolled mags, spinners and rapalas with no luck. Tried casting with spoons and jigs with no luck. Did get a few bites while still fishing with powerbait, but missed the hook up.

Pretty crowed on the lake today and lots of folks on the banks. Seemed pretty much feast or famine with lots of others getting skunked like me. There were some fortunate folks though that limited fast.

I think I still have a lot of learning to do. Especially fishing from a kayak and being patient ;). Using a fish finder is new to me as well, but got a lot of practice today.

Great leg workout thigh on the PA and feel a little less guilty about pigging out the day prior on Turkey day.

I usually nail the trout trolling a dodger and flies. Usually an olive woolly bigger or a doc spratley. Beaver lake is the exception as I have only fished it twice and both times were on the slow side for me with only 3 fish brought after a few hours of fishing

Don’t feel bad. I was there on Friday also and also got skunked. I’ve fished there for years and never had a problem this soon after a stocking. Also, it seemed a lot more crowded this time than in past years.

Yeah, it's really feast or famine on this lake for most folks.

I came out again today for a little bank fishing and pulled in a fat 17 incher within the first 2mins...fun and crazy. Went pretty quiet after that and headed home after getting rained on for a few hours. Lots of other boaters coming in skunked though.

Go figure.
