Boat is closed up for winter so thought I'd give the bank fishing a try at Ft. Spokane. Got there about 7:00AM and a few there already.
Bite was on, but I was slow getting the marshmallows and powerbait on and only got one before the bite went off at 8:30 and it didn't
come back on until 2:00PM - in between I tried every color in the spectrum, every scent I brought with me, and I had a whole 5 gal
bucket full of everything that caught me that was supposed to catch/attract the elusive trout. When they started biting/hitting hard
again I had on a mix of rainbow and fl. orange, three different colors of marshmallows and anise scent - got three more and left at
4:00. Smallest was 15", largest was 19" and other two were in between. Stomachs in two had digested something that was once
solid and the other two just the algae. Had a little rain in the AM, but it cleared off to more sun than clouds with light wind. There
were a lot of boats coming and going, guess that's what happens on Sunday when the 'Hawks play on Thursday. One more day
like yesterday and the smoker gets fired up. Was going to give this report a 4, but the word consistent was not applicable. I suspect
the water temp was somewhere in the low to mid 50's - definitely not bone chilling yet.
