Started out at Beaver, but there were some duck hunters on the end we wanted to work, so we headed over to Clear. Got in the water about 10, and though it was cool out it was only moderately breezy. We started at the pilings near the launch and the breeze immediately picked up...soon it was blowing about 15 out of the east. It got real cold real quick and we had to move to the SE corner to even fish. Water temp was a cool 46 and nothin' was happening for us. We worked the docks, the downed trees and the deep area off the pilings without any luck. We wrapped it up at 1PM and headed over to Beaver.
Amazingly, Beaver was flat calm! Geese and swans were trading through the area and calling back and forth and made the afternoon very enjoyable. Good thing there was something interesting going on because the fish didn't cooperate there either. We fished until dusk without a hit of any type. We fished a variety of gear, but left the worm rods at home, so I can't claim "nothing" would have worked. No trout rising either.
We toughed it out until sundown and started getting chilly so we headed home.
