Went out to the Sky a while ago looking for some swing therapy. The water levels were good but the fishing was slow. I’m fairly new at Spey fishing and fishing on these rivers in general so it was an unproductive day. Had a few tugs but that’s it. I was wondering if anyone with experience could give me some tips on HOW and WHERE to fish at this late fall time of year in the pnw? No specific species but most likely steelhead/salmon or bull trout/Cutthroat/rainbow. Preferably Snohomish or king county. Tight lines!

Not a lot of fish on the south fork, especially if you were above the falls. Coho go up there, but they're not super aggressive, which you want when you're swinging flies. Lower, below reiter is your best bet, winter run are starting to show up, and there may be a few siilvers and chum to play with. There are also some dollies in the system now, which is probably what you'll catch the most of on the swing. Purple pick yer pockets and flash flies in gold will get you the most strikes.
