For starters I just need to say...man I wish I was one of those people the RULES didn't apply to, life would be so much more fun and easy.

Ok, off of parking and back to fishing. I launched at 0630 into pea soup fog and dead calm 54* water, it should have been awesome...

Five minutes after launching I heard BOOM!.....BOOM BOOM and was quickly reminded that it's waterfowl season! That took away about half the lake. I fished piling row twice, piling point twice and all the docks west and east of the launch on the north side and managed ONE strike resulting in one bass about two pounds.

I decided to bail at 0900 and give Big Lake a try and I won't bother with that report as it was worse. Lots of fry milling around but not one strike...

I ran into duck hunters at Beaver last year. We had shot splashing around us a time or two!

Doesn't bother me but I wasn't going anywhere near them in the fog.

Not comfortable for sure. But try teaching a dog in tracking, in the fog, with the guns going off close at hand. Of course you don't know that they are there until the booms start. How they could even see ducks in the fog I don't know.
