My cousin and I hiked the short hike to Crater Lake Guided by a new friend we met earlier in the day at Barclay Lake. The hike begins at the end of the road just past Lake Elizabeth. The road in is terable but the hike was fairly easy.Elevation gain is about 500 feet spread out over a mile and the trail is a bit overgrown in places.
When you arive at the Lake it looks like a big crater filled with beuatiful turquase
blue and green water. It was little windy but not too bad.The water was nice and warm and I ventured in to the drink about knee deap to reach a ledge were i caught and released 3 small 5 or 6 inch bows in about 45 minutes. Then it was time to go as we got there so late in the day.Next time ill come much earlier in the day when theres less wind. Keep it clean
