Finally had some time to explore the river and sadly I'm extremely late for any good runs for pinks and may be missing the cohos. This past year has been a whirl wind and unfortunately I have barely had many opportunities to hit the river. I hit up some areas in the Tukwila locations and although there wasn't much fish activity that I noticed there was a lot of people fishing in this area. I assume since the Seahawks had a bye week more people were out and about Sunday than normal.
I stumbled across multiple holes where I usually can get a spot to cast but most of those were taken. One area had about 10 guys shoulder to shoulder hitting some different seams and runs. I decided to chalk the day up as more of an exploration and scouting day. The tide was low and the mud and muck was thick Sunday morning with the sun out and the weather was gorgeous. The water receded about 3-5 feet from the bank and most areas had deep mud that I would sink 5" to 6" so I decided not to linger in these spots. I was by myself and didn't want to get stuck.
I didn't see one fish rolling or see much of any other fisherman get any play out of the fish. Since I'm so new on this system, I'm not sure if they have pushed up towards Kent and Auburn yet or if it was just a slow day. Next weekend I will try and push out towards Auburn to see if there are any signs of fish that have moved up. Good luck to everyone out there.
