They still have toxic algae sign up but it looks clearer than it was in the water. This is the 3rd time I have stopped at this late this Oct. The Oct fishing is spot on so far. Each time I have come I have caught at least one fish.. even though I only had an hour or two to spare. My first time recently I caught 5 fast last. two fat rainbows and 3 cutthroats. all on bobber worm combo(this was with the kiddos too) .I stopped by Cottage lake with my boys after an appointment. We ate lunch there while I put some lines in the water. I set up typical worm bobber combo. This time it took about 30 min before we caught the first fish. A bit fat cutthroat. there was no one else there so I just kept trying different parts of the dock. A bit later another fellow showed up. My boys little friend reeled in the second fish. She loved it but I forgot to move the other line so all a tangled mess at the end.. I passed off the two fish to him for his buddies to enjoy. then packed up. I am thinking this will be a good year for cuts in Cottage lake for October. You can catch em off the dock. But they likely school as usual so on out the water I am thinking lures and other combos might product some nice fish. Mine lines where all about 12 inches of leader so many are close to surface. Sorry I cannot post pictures of this day but here is one from a recent trip.

Thanks for the info...took my grandson this afternoon and he caught a nice foot long bow right off the bat on a bobber worm rig with 18” leader. A strong wind came up so we gave it a little more time without luck and headed for the playsets. He was pretty proud of that fish.

Awesome that he caught a fish and a good size one too. One fellow said he caught a 19 inch rainbow and a 20 inch cut. that was Septemb
er so there are big fish in there. They tend to swim through there and the fish are nor wormy. Even with the coming rain it should still be good. You know if there is a break in the rain. Worried this coming front will kill the bite with pressure change. but right after the change it actually should be good. one year I caught most my fish from 930-to 1100 am. but as I experienced the lunch hour can have success too as well as the late afternoon till dusk time.
