Launched out of shilshole and was fishing by dawn. One nice thing about fall is that you don't need to wake up as early to be on the water for first light.

Anyway, today was a bit slower than my last several outings for coho. I didn't see a lot of nets flying and I only managed to get one, a 5-6 lb hen caught 54ft down just south of the green can at meadow pt.

The checker said they were averaging fewer than one fish per angler, so I guess I did alright.

Try further north, near Edmonds. Lots of fish still in the sound!

One of the guys I talked to at the Shilshole ramp said they did well on Saturday, so it might have been just an off day. It's been pretty decent from Meadow Pt. to West Pt. so far this September, so I haven't felt the need to run up to the oil docks yet, even though I hear the fishing has been good.
