Had a late start today and a friend couldn't make it last minute so I flew solo today. There were about 8 other boats in the Kirkland area fishing. I fished from 10-1pm and did not have a bite. I saw plenty of jumpers and I saw one other boat land a fish. Very few fish marks on the sonar. I tried hoochies, magwarts, and one of my new favorite lures the Old Goat OG1 and OG2. Nothing happening today. Will try it again next week. I am hoping the rain pushes a ton of fish through.

Is Lake Washington open to salmon fishing or were you actually fishing for trout?

The thing about Lake Wa, once the rain hits the fish tend to come in and head straight for the hatchery. Very easy to miss them.

Better hurry. The tribes are fishing the Ship Canal now and they can net the north end of Lake Washington starting 9/24 if the count is over 10,000 at the locks. Quote from the List of Approved Fisheries (LOAF).

North end Lake Washington (North of Hwy. 520 bridge):
If the ISU is > than 10,000 the fishery could open Wk 39 (wb 9/24) – Wk 46 (wb 11/12) with the fishing pattern up to 5 days per week (Sun – Fri).
