Fished Cassidy from 7am to 9am Saturday morning. C&R only 7 total bass (with a few other misses), most around 12-14 inches and healthy- and very feisty with all performing fantastic aerial displays when hooked! They acted like they'd never been hooked...but some had badly damaged mouths from previous battles with fishermen. I did manage to get one over 4 pounds - seemed bigger after catching the smaller ones. All caught dead-sticking my home pours. Got my bass fix and made it home in time for the huge community garage sale treasure hunt!

Well done! Thinking of doing some home pours myself. Now I feel encouraged. Any tips or products you like? Do you recycle old plastics for your molds?

I started with a beginner's kit from Lurecraft years ago, but have many molds in my collection purchased from a variety of places. Now I just add materials (plastic, glitter, etc) as needed. I make my own molds from oven baked clay that can be purchased at Walmart cheap. I saw a how-to video on YouTube, and made my own designs. I do make molds from plaster/paris and coat them with epoxy - but they don't last as long. I do re-melt my own plastic...and save every chunk when fishing, but I've never really melted other types. I use a little stove burner, not a microwave, and pour one lure a at a time very carefully by hand. Get a Lurecraft catalog - they mail them free if you ask on-line. The perfect store for a lure pourer! Hope that helps and good luck!

One doesn't see many big bass like that in Cassidy. Great report and thanks for the catch and release. I'll go after that guy this fall.

Yes it does. Thank you for the link. I like a particular style of drop shot worm, and ever time I find a supply, they discontinue their stock. I will make some molds in case my well dries up again. Appreciate the help.
