I was out with a friend on Sunday the 7th. I was using a large spinner bait trolling the docks. Only saw one other person fishing in the lake and he said he was all about the trout. It was my first time on the lake. I lost my spinner so I switched to a powerworm and cought a decent little fighter. He was barely a pound according to my digital scale. My buddy grabbed his plastic worms made by rattlesnake. He quickly hooked a 4.27# largemouth. We were in the southeast end of the lake. I was casting in to the docks and he was actually casting to the opposite side of the boat. It was a beautiful largemouth. We continued fishing that area with no more luck, since we had never been there before we continued around the lakes west side with no further bites. I am not an experienced angler so I wonder if I knew what I was doing if we could have got more. Hopefully we can catch that same one again since we are heading there again tonight, its wed. the 10th.

It is true, the lake had warnings all over it, paper flyers saying it was treated on 08/04/05. But it didnt stop the big one from biting. Im excited to go try it again. Does anyone know where I can get bass fishing tips like how I should be retrieving plastic worms, crankbaits and spinners. Maybe you just try a little of everything lol. I just want to feel like I actually have a tactic in mind. I just try to stay in the wood alot. I think I need a fishfinder if they are actually helpfull. My email is ethormeyer@hotmail.com if you can throw some tips my way. Thanks all and good luck. I would be going to Geneva tonight to keep the lake tour moving but that big one we caught is calling me back. With my dang camera this time dangit. I cursed myself about that the whole time lol. Ug!!!
