Arrived at 8:00 am and launched my kayak. The lake water level is down a few feet and getting anything other than a kayak or small boat would be very difficult based on the low water level at the WDFW boat launch. The low water level continues all the way past the boat launch area as you exit the stream/boat launch area and enter the lake.
Anyway, after about 30 minutes on the lake a quick thunderstorm rolled over the lake and dropped some decent strong rain for about 15 minutes. I was already prepared with rain jacket, etc. Stayed warm and dry as the skies opened up for awhile. The doom and gloom of the cloudy day did not help my fishing at all. Went fishing near any cover I could find (docks, lily pads, submerged logs) and beyond (fan cast in shallow and deeper water) since I would expect the LBM to be on the move with the cloudy conditions. Well, I got a lot of nibbles from bluegill harassing my plastic creature bait and crankbait. I went through a lot of different lures and fished slow and fast - no luck.
