Tried Gene Coulon Park this morning trying to for anything. This is probably my 4th time there and I've never had any luck. Daughter did get a trout on a drop shot rig /w power minnow, but for me.. nada.

Today was the same. Tried various rigs and lures. I always see other anglers here so there must be catching. Most fish the enclosed area around Ivers.

Well,at least I got to practice my casting.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have had some luck with Berkley tan honey worms power bait, under a slip bobber,12 to 15 feet deep. tread the worms , 3 , like wacky worm style. Night crawlers work too, can fish close to the dock, structure. good luck

From shore or boat drop shot is my 'go to'. I will use other stuff but for the most part I start with a drop shot. I take a 6" Yamamoto power senco, cut it into thirds (if I am feeling generous) or or quarters then cut those pieces down the middle length wise. Hook it by the end, or thread on to a bait hook. Hooked on the end is easier... Start with a white with fleck. If that does not work switch colors. Cast out a little and twitch the tip or cast as far as you can and jerk, jerk, slowly reel, reel. Repeat. Find a weed line if you can or cast into the weeds. If 'in' the weeds the twitch is more of a 'yank' and relax to pull it through the weeds. I am fishing with 6lb or heavier and seldom loose gear but pull in a LOT of weeds.

Haven't fished there in years, but used to fish for perch there. I would use a drop shot set-up with two hooks on the line, one above the other and high enough to be above the weed line with a nice fat piece of night crawler or piece of cut up perch. I usually did best in the evening or morning. Enatai beach park in Bellevue (right under the 90 bridge) is a great location for perch, sunfish and rock bass. There is a small dock and it does get crowded. You can also fish under the bridge but there are lots of weeds. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try out those areas.
