Went to check out the Nooksack river to try much luck for salmon. Fished at the fishery and at Ferndale. Drift fished using a corky & yarn as well as a pink dick nite. About 3-4 hours in the water.

No luck from the shore, no bites and didn't even see a fish. Not many other anglers neither. Perhaps too soon for pinks?

I think I may need to invest in some waders to get into better spots.

It was close to Skookum Creek fish hatchery. Jut found a random trail off the side of the road.

Just as thought, that areas off limits till October 1, all game fish there are off limits to protect " the tribes springer king run " yet they allow all the tubing and etc to f up the system... Seen so much trash up there this year than in past years... Watched a douche bag pull out a couple kings a while back, not sure if WDFW even followed up on the email and phone call... Don't matter anyway, stupid prick took boots......

That's good to know. Didn't know there was a season difference there vs Ferndale. I guess it was good I didn't even get a bite.
