Hmmmm, where to begin...

Well, target species was Cutthroat but I didn't see any action from them at all.

What I did see action from were Lots of Sockeye (5) all safely released and a nice 10-12lb King Salmon. That thing gave me a run for my money on light gear.

Funny thing is, the Sockeye were Hitting my mini cutplug filled with anchovies with a teaser strip. 50 ft of water near the bottom. Wasn't surprised the King hit that but man was it an odd day.

At least I enjoyed a peaceful, relaxing evening with the water calm and all to myself.

Great report DJ. Were you fishing the Moss Bay/Kirkland area again or down by Mercer Island/Cedar River? I was out a few weeks ago and couldn't keep the sockeye off my line. We did manage to find 3 nice cutts also.

Sounds like you had a great outing to me. Its not always about fish in the box. Those sockeye are a blast on a light trout rod and that King must have drug you half way around the lake! WOW what a handful.

Hahaha it was crazy.. originally thought I was snagged, then my line screams. Now I'm worried it's gonna peel off all of the line I had. Cranked the motor up and chased em hahah. It was hoot. Hey we need to link up and slay some Coho. Did I ever shoot you my number??
